The position of goalie has an inherent romanticism: masked men clad with cool armor, serving as the last line of defense. They play entire games, with an unparalleled ability to impact outcomes. When they're on, they can single-handedly defeat a giant foe. They are the consummate underdogs and towering superheroes all at once.

Tim Thomas 2011-12 Mask
Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins (born April 15, 1974 in Flint, MI.)
I believe the reason he had that on his backplate was not because of Metallica, but because of the original idea behind the coiled snake/Don't Tread On Me concept which was during the American Revolution. http://www.foundingfathers.info/stories/gadsden.html
Any idea what pads he is using??
ReplyDeleteIf you click on the "InGoal Magazine" link above the first photo, it will take you to the article talking about his "mystery pads."
ReplyDeleteI think they are Reebok
ReplyDeleteHe must love Metallica. That snake on his back plate is from Metallica album art.
