Pekka Rinne 2011-12 Mask

Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators (born Nov. 3, 1982 in Kempele, Finland.)

The fan-designed mask that Rinne wore one game is at the bottom.

Artist: David Gunnarsson

In April Dave unveiled a new mask for Rinne.
This new creation is a direct continuation of Pekka´s previous insanely popular mask designs with Predator monster behind the old school mask... and here Pekka is transformed into The Predator from the Predators movies... You know the Predator with the huge mouth. :-)

Very similar to his mask last season. At InGoal Magazine Gunnarsson said "This year’s design is a continuation of last year’s, but now even more wild and mad… So we named it Hardcorelicious PredGoalie…and I cannot tell you enough how fun I had creating it! It’s created in the new Predators colors, with more blue and yellow. The Predator goalie is a real badass goalie, he has lost a tooth, and he also has a tongue piercing…and his brain is showing! He has tried to fix his mask using all possible tricks, staples, needle and wire, and band-aid again of course."

This mask was from part of last season, but he also work it at the beginning of this season.

This winter Nashville Predators ran a contest where fans got the chance to design a mask for Rinne. The grand prize was to get the design painted by David on a mask and the mask worn by Pekka in a Predators game, and then finally to keep the game-worn mask!

The winner was Liz Guilyard.
