Henrik Karlsson 2010-11 Mask

Henrik Karlsson of the Calgary Flames (born Nov. 27, 1983 in Tumba, Sweden.)

I really like the skulls near the back on both sides (I'm very partial to skulls on masks it seems), but I'm not sure what the yellow creature is supposed to be. Is it just a flame? With eyes? Any help is appreciated.

Update: thanks to miseenjeu, I now know that the yellow creature is a horsehead. Thanks!

Per Wikipedia, the horsehead was an alternate logo from 1999 - 2007.

  2. Oh, it's a horsehead? Interesting...I never would've been able to make that out. Thanks!

  3. It is Calgarys third jersey logo. It is a horse blowing fire out of its nostrils

Google - Calgary Flames horse head, lots of photos of it.

I agree, very cool mask. One of my favorites.

  4. Ever notice that the skull on Karlsson's mask resembles the skull on Kipper's mask?
