Pekka Rinne 2010-11 Mask

Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators (born Nov. 3, 1982 in Kempele, Finland.)

Rinne has gotten a new mask late in the season. Here's the article about it at InGoal Magazine. They refer to it as his Honky Tonk Mask, because it pays tribute to Nashville's country music roots.

"Pekka wanted to celebrate the local HonkyTonk Nashville music and Nashville as a city on the mask. I created a completely new and unique design idea for the mask, and Pekka really liked it.

Around the mask notes are played along classic note lines, this ties the design together and the design is built out from it. The HonkyTonk theme continues on the chin with a sculpture of a double bass flanked by piano keys that create cool speed-filled graphics. The upper part is a tribute to Nashville as a city with its skyline. Of course you can spot some famous buildings, like the BellSouth Building and the arena’s tower."

And Swedish Crown Princess Victoria helped Gunnarsson apply some of the paint while touring Dave’s shop.

Here's his mask from earlier in the season.
