John Gibson 2014-15 Mask

John Gibson of the Anaheim Ducks (born July 14, 1993 in Pittsburgh, PA.)

Gibson has two video-game themed masks, although he seems to only have worn one so far.

The artist for both masks is David Gunnarsson.

Gunnarsson unveiled the Pac-Man mask in July. Then a couple weeks ago a Space Invaders mask was also announced, but it doesn't seem that one has been worn in-game yet.

Here is discussion of the Pac-Man mask.

“...instead of the yellow eating dot, here it is a Ducks mask eating the smaller dots, so let us introduce the Pac-Duck mask,” Gunnarson wrote on his Facebook page. “Hey Pac-Duck, watch out for the ghosts!”
As Gunnarsson notes, the design is painted “in old-school pixel styles,” including the Ducks logos on the sides, Gibson’s number 36 on the chin, and even the old cherry treats from the video game.
“The only thing not painted in pixel styles are the eating Ducks masks,” he said.

Here is the discussion of the Space Invaders mask from later October. There are no in-game photos of this one yet.

On the left and right sides, the classic, pixelated space invaders are moving side to side, with the invaders attempting to be shot down with the “core cannon”.
On the top of the mask is where things start to get really interesting. Gunnarsson calls the character “The Alien Duck" on the top of the mask…. inspired by a certain Alien from a certain Alien movie, an Alien with a mouth in the mouth… or more precise a beak in the beak!” Pretty scary if you ask us!
