Brodeur has added a unique twist to his new mask for the upcoming season, going beyond his usual team-driven design with the addition of his two bulldogs, Stan(ley) and Vez(ina) on either side of his new lid for 2013-14.

Vez appears on the right side, just above the shadow of the Vezina Trophy, with the number 4 in the middle to signify the four times Brodeur has won the award as the NHL’s top regular season goalie. Stan is opposite on the left, perched above a silhouette of the Stanley Cup, with the number 3 inside to signify Brodeur’s three championships with New Jersey.
