The position of goalie has an inherent romanticism: masked men clad with cool armor, serving as the last line of defense. They play entire games, with an unparalleled ability to impact outcomes. When they're on, they can single-handedly defeat a giant foe. They are the consummate underdogs and towering superheroes all at once.

Ty Conklin 2010-11 Mask
Ty Conklin of the St. Louis Blues (born March 30, 1976 in Anchorage, AK.)
It seems Conklin has 2 masks. One is a Blues Brother theme. The other one seems to be just a St. Louis general theme.
I do not know. I've been trying to find out tonight, but haven't been able to yet. But I'll continue to try and get back with you if I find out. Thanks for the comment!
I looked up a photo of his Red Wings mask...what is that purple guy on the front of his mask supposed to be? The photo I found didn't show it very clearly...
Do you know who paints Conks' masks? His Red Wings mask was my all time favorite.

The "purple guy" is the red wings "mascot" the octopus
ReplyDeleteOh...an octopus. Gotcha. Because of the whole "throwing the octopus on the ice" thing. Thanks!
