The position of goalie has an inherent romanticism: masked men clad with cool armor, serving as the last line of defense. They play entire games, with an unparalleled ability to impact outcomes. When they're on, they can single-handedly defeat a giant foe. They are the consummate underdogs and towering superheroes all at once.

Cam Ward 2010-11 Mask
Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes (born Feb. 29, 1984 in Saskatoon, SK.)
According to The Goalie Guild that's "Blackbeard, the English pirate, on both sides of the mask."
There are teams with a lot of scoring power and there are teams with solid defense. The Hurricanes do not really have either. What they do have is Cam Ward. He is so solid. It would be fascinating to see this guy play for a top-5 team in the NHL. He would be incredible. He is hidden the South there - where hockey does not get much coverage. Put him on a major market team or on any Canadian team and worship would begin. He actually has a Stanley Cup ring. Made out of mist and magic.
