Pekka Rinne 2012-13 Mask

Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators (born Nov. 3, 1982 in Kempele, Finland.)

Artist: David Gunnarsson

Nashville Predators' keeper Pekka Rinne is transformed into a Voodoo doll with this mask on, or maybe more precise a Voodoo Predator doll... And nothing can hold the predator back, not even if it's attached with big bad needles... He is chewing his way out from the Voodoo mask and is ready to play...

Carey Price 2012-13 Mask (his first one anyway)

Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens (born Aug. 16, 1987 in Anahim Lake, BC.)

Artist: Steve Nash of EyeCandyAir

From InGoal Magazine:

Price didn’t want to start a new NHL season without a fresh new mask, so on Friday, the Montreal Canadiens star took delivery of a fresh lid the day before it started.
In need of a new look on short notice, Price turned to artist Steve Nash of EyeCandyAir.

Jaroslav Halak 2012-13 Mask

Jaroslav Halak of the St. Louis Blues (born May 13, 1985 in Bratislava, Slovakia.)

Artist: Jason Livery of HeadStrong Grafx

Article found at InGoal Magazine:

The images come courtesy of the mask’s artist, Jason Livery of HeadStrong Grafx, who said the mask was “all Jaro’s ideas,” and designed to play off Halak’s new Brian’s pads that debuted on InGoal this week.
“He wanted a Blues note under the tears on one side and on the other he wanted little magical notes falling out of the tears,” Livery said, noting the backplate features the Slovakian flag. “So based on his description that’s what we came up with. I don’t know of any signifigance to the design ideas. I do know I haven’t seen anything done like this mask before.”

Henrik Lundqvist 2012-13 Mask

Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers (born March 2, 1982 in Are, Sweden.)

Artist: David Gunnarsson

Henrik and I talked a lot during the fall about ideas for his coming masks, and this mask series crystallized. I started to do sketches at once... :-)

Every mask will have a theme, starting with this first salute mask from Lundqvist; Legends from the Silverscreen.

On one side of the mask you find the Swedish movie legends Greta Garbo and Ingrid Bergman painted in a soft classic style, and on the other side you find the legendary Swedish director Ingmar Bergman in a movie poster inspired layout, inspired from his iconic movie The Seventh Seal.
